Rebecca Peters has the ability to open hearts with her soaring vocals and unique approach to guitar and piano. Her greatest desire in music and worship is to be a sign pointing to the wonder: Jesus.
The Boissevain, Manitoba native started playing piano and singing in elementary school and took up guitar in high school. During high school, she got involved in singing in church and at bible camp and started leading at her youth group.
But it wasn’t until she moved to Winnipeg and started attending Sanctuary House of Prayer that she got the chance to bloom.
“SHOP has been the first place where I’ve been given a real opportunity to lead worship and given freedom to make decisions,” she says.
She ended up in the night and day prayer movement through a series of shifts in her life orchestrated by the Most High.
“The Lord is an excellent leader,” she says, “In His game of three-dimensional chess, He set me up about 15 moves ahead and many, many years before He brought me into the beautiful reality called the house of prayer.”
This shaped Rebecca into the worshiper she is today:“He made me to be Mary, loving Him with song and music.”
A social work student, she says she anticipates seeing how He will marry worship and compassion in her life.
