As a worship leader at Sanctuary House of Prayer, Jacquie Engbrecht unquestionably leans on the values of intimacy with Jesus, encounter with His presence, singing the Word of God, and giving Him the glory due His Name.
The young wife of worship leader Joe Engbrecht and mother of three, who hails from Steinbach, Manitoba, has unearthed other truths about her music.
“I’ve learned that Jesus loves it every step of the way, from the time I was a little girl singing as I walked down the country roads up until now, as a young mom singing songs about Jesus to my own children.”
Jacquie has been involved as a singer and pianist, and has led her own team at SHOP off and on since 2006 and keeps her steadfast eyes fixed on her Saviour. Every time she goes up on the stage, she leaves feeling grateful that “the Lord has chosen to bless and accept my weak offerings to Him.”
She loves being a part of this movement of combining prayer and worship and missions and feels that it is what she was made for!
“When I sit at my piano and sing, something just opens up and it’s amazing how many times He speaks to me as I’m singing to Him,” she says. “I love being able to declare truth with music and song because it’s so powerful and can impact the heart in such an amazing way.”
